Your school wants to strengthen the community by encouraging experienced students to connect with new students and help them adjust to campus life. Design an experience that allows mentors and mentees to discover each other. Consider the needs of both mentors and mentees, including how someone may become a mentor and how to connect mentors to mentees.

What

• A system for both mentors and mentees to connect with each other based on their preference

• It can be done at any where with the internet

Why

• Most people feel more comfortable on the online platform with their own avatars, instead of meeting in person before knowing a stranger well

When

• The matching process has to be done before the welcome week and the connection between mentors and mentees will be continued.

How

1. Both mentors and mentees are required to build their own avatar and fill out a questionary of their

interest, race, major, etc.

2. After mentees creating their avatar and completing the questionary, they could select the criteria that

would be considered through the matching process.

3. The system will automatically generate five matching mentors for mentees to select.

Mentees could use their electronic device (ipad, iphone, etc.) scan the shape to initiate the corresponded

mentor’s avatar’s brief introduction video.

After viewing the video of each, mentees are required to select one out of five.

4. Upon this step, the matching process is already done.

Mentees are able to select the meeting option, either virtual or in-person and either one-on-one or group

meeting.

5. Based on the mentee’s selection, the matching result enable mentee and mentor to connect and discover

each other in a more efficient and comfortable way. Mentee could also get the assistance and adjust

campus life in a way they are used to.
