VR Experience
For the VR experiences, I've tried out “VR Showdown”, “Henry”, “Dear Angelica”. and “Google Earth VR”. My favorite one was Henry. Everything was so adorable and the story is touching. I wish I could give him a huge hug and take a bite of his strawberry cake while watching it. The animation style for henry is more Pixar feeling and it is also similar to the style I would like to incorporate for my final. The entire experience didn’t make me feel dizzy. Probably it’s because I didn’t have to keep turning around to see everything like Dear Angelica and Google Earth VR.
As for Dear Angelica, the hand drawing style was fascinating. My favorite part was when everything started to slowly fall down from my side, and everything is so calm and serene. However, it made me feel a little bit nauseous and tangle up the wire on my chair. Different elements pop up at a different angle, from 0 to 360 degree, and I would have to be sensitive to the audio to know which direction I should face to.
In terms of "VR Showdown", I thought I would be able to grab things up at the beginning. The visual effect was cool, especially when each bullet flying beside me. I'm really into the car bombing scene, I felt like I could feel the heat and gas scattered out from the car.
"Google Earth VR" was the one made me the most nauseous. The experience was innovative. I would get to visit multiple locations. My favorite one was the VR solar eclipse. The sun lighting angle and direction, the earth size are all manageable.
